Difference between 192.168.55.100 and .101

Hi,

I've got a CF.NET project that connects over ActiveSync to a server on
our network that is running SQL 2000.

This works fine when ActiveSync is "assigned" the IP address of
192.168.55.100. However, when it (seemingly randomly) changes to
192.168.55.101 it can no longer connect to the server (nor ping it).

So, I have a few of questions.

- What is the difference between the two IP addresses?
- Under what cirumstances is each address used?
- How do I make the device connect to the machine on our network when
either address is used?

The device is an hp iPAQ 2210. It has Bluetooth (tried with it both en-
and disabled), but no WLAN.

255.255.255.0 on all connections (Both Device, and the host PC). The IP
of the SQL Server is 192.168.16.1, which can be pingged by the device
when connected to .100, but not .101
