Greetings!

I frequently back up photos or data on CD-R's and was able to add more info
to the disc till it was full. Recently, I tried backing info up and now I've
been getting an ERROR message which says:

SONY DLA : This disc is not formatted, would I like to format it?

I never had to format any discs and now the CD-R closes the job and I no
longer have the luxury of adding more data to the disc till it's full.

I would appreciate any input/insight to this.
I thought perhaps my Sony Vaio PCG-FX340 laptop was going crazy.
I am using Windows XP-Home Edition .

Thank you very much!

I might be mistaken, but as far as I know, DLA isfor ReWritable discs. Try
un, re-instal.

That is coming from the DLA packet writing system, usually used for
CD-RW, which provides true drag and drop of files to the disk. If you
are using CD-R disks it will offer to format them, as a start point for
using this system, and adding files directly to the CD on the fly. Of
course, that can fill up. If you intend to burn your photos in batches
instead, you would take No to that message, and then use whatever
burning program is supplied for that (probably RecordNow on that
machine). You can if you do not want to use the DLA mode for CD-RW, go
to My Computer, r-click on the drive, take Properties and on the DLA
page uncheck the 'Enable DLA' box.
