dictonary does not work in word

tried opptions does not change word will not recognize basic spelling
mistakes any help
 
Ctrl+A to select the entire document. Go to Tools | Language | Set Language
and make sure the correct language is selected and that "Do not check
spelling or grammar" is not checked.
