Dialup Internet Access - Error 6: The handle is invalid

- Running Windows XP Home SP/2
- NAV 2005 with latest Defs - Cleaned all Viruses
- Spy Sweeper with latest Defs - Cleaned Spyware
- Adaware 1.05, Spy Bot, Counter Spy.
- Reset TCP/IP stack
- Reinstalled Windows with the Repair option

I am dialing up using Windows DUN, the system dials, connects but when it
goes to verify the username and password I get the "Error 6: The handle is
invalid" and it goes no further. I have also installed AOL and NetZero with
no luck connecting (No Error Messages) with them. I feel it is some item in
DUN that was affected by Spyware because this computer was loaded and would
at least connect before cleaning the computer.

There is probably something that I left out. Any suggestions or areas to
look in would be great.

I am on the verge of doing a clean install but I would love to know what is
failing.

Thanks

Type this line at the command prompt. It can repair damage caused by
spyware programs:

netsh winsock reset catalog

Thanks for the idea but no luck. I guess this will be one for the Spyware
writers. Any other suggestions would be welcome.
