hi. having a prob with dialogue boxes appearing far too
large, taking up the whole screen plus some in fact. for
example the zone alarm connection alert box that usually
occupies approx 1/6 of the screen is now so big only
about 1/4 of it can be seen at a time.
any hints as to what this may be would be appreciated
Have done the usual anti-v, spybot & adaware scans but
they found nothing unusual.
Thanks

Screen resolution - or DPI to be precise - is probably your problem.

Try this....

Right click your Desktop. select Properties/Settings/Advanced. Under DPI
setting, click on 'Other' in the scroll down box or, if it has been set
before, 'Custom'.

This will allow you to increase/decrease the size of displayed items etc.

Good luck,

Ed

thanks for the reply. tried what you suggested,
everything looks ok there. set to 96 dpi normal size,
going to 72 doesn't fix the prob. i recently removed some
fonts, could it have something to do with that?
have tried rolling back the display driver that was
recently updated to no avail. it also seems to affect
some web pages which makes me think it could be related
to the fonts.

cheers

Hi, Ted.

Can't think of anything else right off, but you could check for monitor
driver updates.

Best wishes,

Ed

thanks for rewsponding again Ed. i'm starting to think it
has something to do do with fonts. the boxes are getting
big to accomodate the large font sizes.
when i installed corel9 i was warned to back up my
c\windows\fonts file in case i wanted to remove the corel
fonts......so when i uninstalled corel i deleted the
contents of the c\windows\fonts folder and copied back
the original fonts. could this be causing a problem?
btw none of the affected programs were installed after
corel

Cheers

Ted
