Dialog box problem

A few weeks ago, started getting a Microsofot Outlook dialog box everytime I
open a new message. Recently, three in succession will pop up every time I
recieve a message. How do I stop this?! The text of the dialog is below:

"A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook.
Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you
should choose "No"."
This followed by "Allow access for [drop down menu]" and then Yes, No and
Help buttons. Help is useless,as is the knowledge base.

Thanks.

What version of Outlook and what happened a few weeks ago that may have
changed

Office XP (2002). The only changes I've made have been updates from
Microsoft. Now that I think about it, there may have been an Office or
Outlook update in there somewhere.

Was it a Service Pack update do you know for instance SP3 does some kinky
things with word templates that could cause the security warning that you
see. One test would be to disable the addin and if you use Word as your
email editor then temporarily disable that also until we can narrow it down.

I don't have SP3 yet. At least it's not listed in the Add/Remove Programs
list - my updates are automatic so I haven't done a good job of keeping
track. I disabled Word as my e-mail editor and that fixed the problem for
new outgoing e-mails. I still get the message 2 or 3 times for each new
incoming e-mail. That's only been happening the last few days. No new
software or updates have been installed in the last week or two.

I found a program ActiveProject that was installed when I accessed a website
for a construction project we're working on. Removing that fixed the
incoming problem. Now I don't have the dialog box at all. However, is there
a way to go back to using Word as my e-mail editor without getting the
message?

Thanks.

See this and this:

If you're using Word as the editor and you have Adobe Acrobat (full version,
not Acrobat Reader) installed, that's the most likely cause.

That was it. I do have the full version of Acrobat. I edited the registry
editor as advised in one of the links you provided and everything is fine.

Thanks.
