Dialing modem on boot

When I boot the computer it automatically dials the modem. I don't
want that as it ties up a phone line.
I want it just to dial automatically when IE or OE is loaded.
I tried the different radio buttons on IE properties connections but
nothing worked.
Using XP SP2, OE6 and IE6.
Is there anything else that is dialing up? How do I get it to do what
I want?
Thanks,

If you know for sure that it is dialing up your ISP, then skip what I have
written below... However, the second paragraph is always pertinent, no
matter what the case...

I'd try the advice given by Ramesh. If that doesn't work, you might just
have a program know as a "dialer". It's a program on the lines of AdWare,
or a Trojan (not the same, but just to give you an idea of what you may be
dealing with). Dialers basically attempt to dial out on your modem, in
order to "phone home". Generally these are international or even 900# type
calls which ends you up with HIGH phone bills.

If you have a good, up-to-date, Antivirus program, try doing a full system
scan. Another good program would by Spybot - Search and Destroy. Spybot
will almost certainly get rid of any of those nasty little "bugs" you have
crawling around on your system...
