Dialer Update Annoyance

Hi: Just installed SP2 from the MS disk and keep getting an error message as
soon as I connect with my dialup:

Checking for Dialer Update

Error 404: Can't resolve hostname to IP address.

....then the messaage box disappears.
This is an annoyance. Can someone tell me how to disable this message box?
I've beeen rummaging through settings with no success.

scan for spyware first. spybot safer-networking.org and
update and scan.
 
I DL'ed a new setup program from my ISP and deleted the existing connection,
then ran the setup.exe and got a new connection, and that fixed the
problem...Mike
