After running a virus scan I was notified that there
was a suspicious file, Dialer_RAS.as, or something
similar, that my virus software couldn't remove. I ran a
search of my drives, and found that file in my Temporary
Internet Files folder, along with one named Ddialer.asp
in another location.
I would like to remove those files from my computer,
but I'm not sure that just deleting them would be smart.
I really could use some advice on how to deal with
this.
Also, after using the Search utility to locate any
files with 'dialer' in the name, the Search window listed
some files that met that criteria, said the search was
complete, and asked whether this was sufficient.
After that, I noticed that my system was running
kind of wildly, so I checked the Performance tab in the
Task Manager and found that, with no selected application
running, my CPU usage was from 75% to 100%.
Checking the Applicatons tab in the Task Manager
showed that Search was still running and that it was what
was running up my CPU usage.
Clicking the End Task button stopped the Search
utility, but, the next time I ran a more in-depth search,
the same thing happened.
I'm sure this is not supposed to happen but I am not
sure what to do about it. Please, help.
