Recently realized my outlook dialer would not place a 1 in front of a out of local area code
Is there a common reason for this?

Have you verified your Phone and Modem Options in Start | Settings | Control
Panel?

Outlook has a dialer, but the settings for location and such are set in
Control Panel

Is Dialer that runs in Outlook from the Outlook program or is it from Windows?
Can I run XP setup to try and reinstall dialer. I have already "repaired"
Outlook but to no avail.

Thanks again for reply. Once again, the simple problem is the controls or whatever will not put a (1) before a out of local area code number. How should I progress to getting it to work. I use the Outlook dialer all the time. Some setting is wrong somewhere.
Thanks Calvin

This is what I'm saying. You have to set this in Control Panel.
