Hi
I am having trouble with my windows XP Laptop staying connected to the
internet.
when I use my laptop on the internet it will connect for a minute or so then
it will disconnect.
the phone line is ok because my desktop connect fine with out any problem
using the same line.
can you help please??

You could ask btopenworld if they're rejecting the laptop. If they are,
it's probably easy to fix at their end. I'm not sure about support. They say,
"You won't be charged until we agree how best to help you,"
so be careful not to agree. They'd want to get at least £25:

What you could do without calling btopenworld would be to route the
laptop through the desktop, using internet connection sharing. If
btopenworld is rejecting your laptop and wants £25 to recognize it,
you ought not agree to that - share the connection, shop for a new ISP.

Check your email options settings, under the connections tab.
Is there a check mark in the box for "hang up after sending and receiving"?
How often does your email check mail. It could be the reason the phone hangs up.
