dial up

After booting my computer, it automatically dials up for
internet. After cancelling it, the system automically
redials. I went under internet settings & chose "never
dial up" but the system still automically dials up. Very
annoying! How can I make this stop? It just keeps
dialing, and dialing, and dialing, and dialing, please
help me put a stop to this viscious cycle!
Thanks,
Allison

Watcha!

Sounds like something is dialing up - what programs do you have starting up
when Windows boots?

Allison,

The problem may due to a spyware attempting to dial. Download Ad-Aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system

and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

Also, disable Remote Access Auto Connection Manager from services.msc
applet.

Download Adaware from lavasoftusa.com and run it after updating to
latest reference file, you sound to have caught a 'dialler'.

Mike.
