Dial Up not connecting

Hi

AM trying to set up a dialup account with XP Pro.

Have run diagnositics on modem with computer and they appear to be talking
to each other.

Whenever I try and connect I get no dial tone and an error 680?

Anyone any iodeas please

Make certain that the modem is properly plugged in correctly.
