Just got XP Pro, everything working very well except for
internet access. At the moment I have to use ISDN (until
BT appear with the broad band kit) and so I'm looking to
connect through a modem.
Every effort to either use the wizard or manually
configure ends when I click Setup and get the message "A
connection cannot be added because Dial-up Networking is
not installed".
On my another PC using XP Home I can happily run a Dial-
up alongside a broad band connection so I know XP can use
either. However on the new machine with XP Pro the only
option available under Internet Connection type
is "Connect using a broad band connection that is always
on" the options for Dial-up are not available.
Anyone else come across this? I can't find anyhting on
the microsoft website.
I'm planning to use an external modem later to see if
this might force it to recognise a modem and then install
the Dial-up.
