Dial up Netowking

I am setting up Dial up networking.
The remote device doesnot have any way to authenticate.
When I use Dialup networking using WINNT, WIN2000 or
WIN2003 it works fine.
But when I use XP, looking at the PPP log, XP is sending
user's Username/Password to the remote device, since
remote device has no way to authenticate it doesnot work.

Any idea, How I can solve the problem.

What is the remote device you are using? Is it not a Dialup Server?

Thanks for getting back,
it is a dumb device, once I get in then I can ftp/telnet
etc.. does work fine with win 2k and 2003
