dial-up keeps trying to disconnect

I just upgraded to XP. every 20 min. a window comes up
and says i will be disconneted in 30 sec. I have the
choice of staying online or hanging up now. how do I stop
this?

Darlene, the easiest way to fix this problem is to go to
the "start menu", go to "network connections", if you have
a dial up service that gave you a disk, open up the
connection window and then change the "properties", what
you are looking for is a "Disconnect" idle timer and there
should be a pull down menu for the time limit, default
settings is usually 20 min. Set it to whatever you like

If you have a windows programmed dial up, right click on
the icon for the dial up and go to "properties" and look
for the same thing.
