Dial up connection password

My dial up connection comes up with a 16 digit incorrect
password, if I change it to the correct 8 digit password
it works, when I open it the next time it reverts back to
the 16 digit password. I created a new dial up connection
with onlt the correct information, closed it and when I
opened it again it showed a 16 digit password

Windows XP, for security reasons, encrypts and changes
the length of passwords. All you need to do is ignore
the appearance change and connect.
