Diagnosing XP Problem

I am running a fully upgraded version of XP Home with sp2. I think I may
have accidentally deleted a dll file or other important system file. I have
trouble with scanner and camera software. Is there a way to find and repair
a problem like this? I checked my xp disc, but I get a message that says not
to use it because my xp is upgraded from the version on the disc.
 
If your system is booting and running OK than it is not a system problem but
a peripheral problem. Suggest you reinstall the camera and scanner by first
uninstalling the applications and then reinstalling them. You should have the
installation disks for those programs.
