Diabetes pill can help beat cancer

As a Diabetic I try to keep up with current affairs ... this online article from The Express looks encouraging.

I toned down the media's hyper headline to something a little more realistic.

As the old saying goes "prevention is better than cure"

What are the consequences of a non diabetic taking this pill as well ?
I believe this is also used to help with weight loss, which of course is also a reason diabetes shows its ugly head.

So can a non diabetic who is over weight take this pill to help prevent diabetes and a pr-emptive strike against a cancer forms?

I have the feeling many people will now start taking this as a prevention cure. In turn the pill may become more expensive?

Time will tell. Maybe i'm being a little pessimistic?
