DHCP

I have multipute sites with each site having its own
subnet and dhcp server. I would like to bring this down
to two servers, but in setting up the inital superscope.
clients outside of my main subnet were unable to get a
ip. Has anyone had experience in dhcp with multi subnet
and sites.

thanks

Hi,

In this scenario you do not want to use superscopes. If you want just one
DHCP server you can simply create a scope for each subnet (do NOT
superscope them) and configure the router that segments the subnets to act
as a DHCP relay.

Thanks,

The one thing that you need to ensure is that you have BOOTP enabled or
allowed passed on your routers. If this is not allowed, the DHCP request
will not go past the router. This could be one of the many issues.
