DHCP server and Sites

G

gurvinder.nijjar

We have 2 windows 2000 dhcp servers in one site. We are going to setup a
new site with a new subnet and move some clients from the old site to the
new site. Also in the new site we are going to move one of the dhcp servers
to automatically distribute ip address information. Just one question the
clients in the old site that received ip information from the dhcp server
that will be move to the new site, will they still access this dhcp server
for renewal information or will they access the other dhcp server in the
same site. We will have links between the sites but want clients to access
the dhcp server in the same site.

As long as each site has a different default gateway you should be able to
define DHCP ranges that will only be "seen" from each physical location.
