DHCP problem

Almost every time I boot XP the network is down and the tray icon says
"Status: Acquring network address". IP-adress is 0.0.0.0 no connection

But my router has its own DHCP server, and all works OK with Win98.

Besides, if I start a cmd windows and use "ipconfig /renew" I get the
right IP-adress (but the tray icon still show the same message).

Any ideas? For now I have setup a fixed IP (as my router has no
expiration on the IP-adress lease), but I'd like to find the error

Check you network cables and/or network adapter. The cables may be bad or
not correctly inserted completely into the router's ports. You network
adapter could be starting to fail.

All OK, and there is no problems with Win98 on the same computer,
neither with "ipconfig /renew" under XP. I noticed some warnings in
the ZoneAlarm log about "Ougoing DNS requests". Does this have
anything to do with the problem (seems like ZA client starts last of
the autostart programs, and before that ZA might block IE access, but
I'm not sure on how to control the starting order of autostart progs)

For now I have selectet fixed IP and that works OK (my router has
registered the DHCP adress with no expiration so it shold work :)
