Hi all,

Windows 2003 Server. Fairly new installation and I'm now installing
DHCP. However, during the install, I get: "This computer has at least
one dynamically assigned IP address". Wrong! I've got one NIC and it is
static:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : NVIDIA nForce Networking
Controller
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-11-09-05-88-F6
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.1.17
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.1.17

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>

If I look at the hidden devices in device manager, I see:
5 x Wan Miniport
Direct Parallel
NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller [not hidden]
NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller - Packet Scheduler Miniport

Looking for DHCP-enabled adapters in the registry, I can't find any.

Now, the only thing that may be relavant is that I had DHCP installed
before installing RIS, but then I reinstalled DHCP, leaving RIS on.
Apart from that, I've got no ideas as the server's never had any DHCP
assigned adapter. It was given a static address during install. Clearly
I've done something as this is the first time I've seen this happen,
but the question is, what?...

Any ideas?
Cheers
Mark

Hmmm. Looks like eveyone else is as confused as I am. OK, does anyone
know how the DHCP installer goes about deciding whether DHCP is
installed or not?
