DFS Shares

Guest

I am trying to setup DFS on my domain. We have 3 servers running Windows
2003 server, the AD server, an HP file server and an application server. I
have created all of the shares on the file server and am able to map drives
to them. I can create the root for DFS but I am unable to link to the
shares. On the DFS server I get a message that says the share is unavailable
at this time. I tried to publish to DFS from the file server side and I
receive a message that I must be an administrator on the DFS server to do
this . I have added the domain administrator to the admin group on the file
server and still can't publish. What step could I have missed in the process?

Hello,
Please define what you mean by publish in this case, publish a share in
active directory is not related to having DFS work,
Are you using a standalone root or a domain based root?

I recommend to also post this question in to the file server newsgroups,
have a look at the follow best practices paper for DFS:
