DFS Mapping Issue

I have a domain DFS setup between 2 servers, one in Colorado and one in Ohio. Replication is working correctly, and everything seems to be functioning normally at the servers. All clients map a network drive to a share, and the share is the DFS root. The issue is that some of the clients in Colorado connect to the Ohio server, and some of the Ohio clients connect to the Colorado server. Is there any way in AD or in vbs to force a connection based on either what site the machine is in, or by IP address to the correct server

Any suggestion is appreciated

Thanks
Scott

Do you have Active Directory Sites properly configured? If not you need to
do this.

What OS are the two servers?

With Windows 2000 if a server is built in one site then moved to another Dfs
doesn't automatically update its site info - you need to do this manually.

Brendan,

Thanks for the suggestion. Both servers are Windows 2000 SP4, and I built the replica server in a different site, and dfsutil shows that the sites are correct for the root and replica being in different sites.

Thanks,
Scott

Ok.

Run gpresult.exe on your clients - this will report which Site they are in.
Do they report the correct information?

Do you have Reverse Lookup Zones setup correctly in DNS?
