dfrgntfs.exe

From time to time I see dfrgntfs.exe running as a process on my
computer. Apparently it is defragmenting the harddisk when the system
has been ideal for a period. How do I disable this service? Task
scheduler is btw enabled but doesnt contains any reference to the exe.

This is not a service and does NOT run all by itself. You might have a
malware that's been named dfrgntfs.exe so you ought to run antivirus
or spyware/malware scanner pronto.

See this thread, particularly the comments by ferzal:

Or: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/WinXP/Q_20977204.html

Or just Google for dfrgntfs -- there are a lot of hits.
