Hello. In device manager i have this statement called
other devices. With a yellow exclamation mark on it.
Inside that is a file called multimedia audio controller.
I have no idea what this is. I have updated my sound card
drivers. Cannot find any other driver for this. Im running
win xp home edition. Appreciate any help. Thankyou.

Hello Thanks for responding, Im getting that error 28.
Your are saying old hardware. Meaning its not compatable
with Win XP? So i guess i have to get another sound card.
Ok well thanks again.

This exclamation mark means that the device is not working properly, or
there are no valid drivers installed for the hardware. This can also be the
result of a resource conflicts. You can find these by opening the device
manager and double clicking the device with the problem. If it has a
Resources tab, then select that and see if it mentions any conflicts. If
there are no conflicts then you probably don't have valid drivers for the
device (although it's possible that the hardware is defective).

I would suggest first looking at the Device Status frame on the General tab
under the device properties as this may give an indication of the actual
problem. One of my systems has a similar issue due to old hardware and it
displays the following message: The drivers for this device are not
installed (Code 28).
