Device Manager Problem

In Device Manager, when check for updates for any device driver,
the Hardware Update Wizard just keeps searching continuously
without any results and I have to click to cancel. Any ideas as to
what causing the Update Wizard not to complete would be much
appreciated. Using WinXP Pro SP2.
 
Don't waste your time. Any better drivers should be gotten directly from
the hardware manufacturers web site.
