I am missing the IDE ATAPI heading from my device manager
My primary IDE is listed under "unknown"
Please help me get these back
What happens if you Right click on the "Unknown aka IDE device" and click "Scan for
hardware changes" in the popup menu?
What happens if you click once on the topmost device aka computer name and then click
on the "Scan for hardware changes" button on the toolbar?
What happens if you uninstall/remove the "Unknown aka IDE device", close out of DM
and reboot? Windows should redetect/reinstall the drivers needed.
What is listed if you click "View > Devices by connection", expand ACPI
Multiprocessor PC > MS ACPI-Compliant System > PCI Bus?
Have you tried to install/reinstall the controller drivers for the motherboard?
Have you tried booting to Safe mode > Device Manager and removing/uninstalling
Any/All IDE ATAPI devices if listed and rebooting? Windows should redetect/reinstall
the drivers needed.
