Device Manager Driver installation issue

D

David Dowdell

Does anyone know how to get the plug n play enumerator back in the System
Devices folder of the Device Manager? I have a driver issue with the
enumerator as well as my NVIDIA audio codec interface and NVIDIA audio
processing unit.

I have been unable to update the drivers for each of these components. I
keep seeing: "There was a problem installing this hardware:...[component
name] An error occurred during the installation of the device. Access is
denied."

I deleted the enumerator hoping that it would reinstall when I rebooted, but
it did not.

Please note that I am running as administrator in Windows XP Professional.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I am having the same issue, on a few of my system
components. Attempting to install or update drivers
yeilds the "access is denied." error. The drivers are
the Nvidia Nforce2 version 2.03 drivers, hardware is the
Biostar M7NCG on winXP home.

If anyone knows a work around or a solution I'd love to
hear it. Thanks.
