Device is missing.

I have a user who is unable to use dial up or the connection manager to
access the company intranet via VPN. The user receives the error "Device is
missing"
 
Need to check modem driver installed properly and working fine.

I have the same problem. I'm connecting using my wireless network adapter, no
dial up modem installed. Under device manager I see RAS Async Apdapter and it
is yellow-exclamation marked, have tried updating driver but apparnetly
Windows UPdate doesn't have one. Any other thoughts?
