\Device\Harddisk5|DR13 ERROR

G

I recently transferred *1,000* mp3 music files from my C:\ drive to a
FLASHDRIVE stick. Afterwards, I transferred more music files (I had been
keeping the Flash stick in the USB port). When finished, I shut down
computer. Upon new START UP, I began to receive an error message that ended
in the above error. I contacted APPLE and MICROSOFT, was advised by both
(after two days of tech support) to reformat C: drive. I did so, and when I
reinserted the Flash stick, received the same message, occassionally ending
in DR5, ...DR33, ...DR35, ...DR45.

Any ideas, comments, or suggestions? Any and all would be greatly
appreciated.

What is the exact message? Open Control Panel followed by Administrative
Tools and then Event Viewer. Under System, look for the Error symbol and
locate the ones related to Harddisk5.

When is this Error appearing? Before, during or after the transfer of
the MP3 files. And to what destination(s) or folder(s) are the MP3 files
being transferred? Lest one forgets, there is a limit on the number of
files that can reside in the root of a partition.
