Device drivers - can't edit certain areas of the registry

Mike

I am having difficulty with an IrDA device driver(s).

The device came with Edinsonsoft ES-620 drivers which work fine
with Win2000 but not with XP. I installed another driver, the
"Mobile Action MA-620) and this worked for a while. Now the
device drivers won't load and I have found multiple instances of
both drivers in the registry. The location(s) are here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\Vid_0df7&Pid_0620\5&1c8bb3a9&0&2
among others.

I have tried to remove these entries but the system will not
allow any changes stating "no permission". I have tried in "Safe
Mode" while logged on as administrator and still no joy.

The registry is editable in most other respects.

Can anyone explain how I can remove these entries/drivers please?

Thanks,
Mike.

I have just discovered why I can't edit these keys, so I guess
I'll leave them alone.

With that in mind, can anyone help with this IrDA driver problem?

TIA,
Mike.
