Device driver preventing hibernation

I have an HP Photosmart 3210 All-In-One which I am using with a Dell Inspiron
8000, running Windows XP. I continually receive the message "Device driver
for 'Photosmart 3200 series (DOT4PRT)' device is preventing the machine from
entering hibernation. Please close all applications and try again. If the
problem persists, you may need to update this driver." I have the latest
updates and it still persists. Help, please. Thank you.

How is an all in one to work if the host computer is in hibernation?
Will the computer hibernate if the 3210 is not connected to the USB port?
