Determine if a Windows XP Patch is installed

I was wondering if it is possible to determine (by some other way than
looking at the 'Add/Remove Programs') if a particular patch has been
installed on Windows XP Home. If so, how do you do this? Thanks.

Or, by determining the DLL's version (a hotfix updates the system file to a higher version)
