Detecting Proxy Settings in IE

I have recently purchased a new laptop computer and i'm running on a wireless
internet connection. I have installed IE 7 beta 3 and every time I open IE I
have to wait for 15 seconds for my homepage to open because IE is "Detecting
Proxy Settings".

Is there anyway I can skip IE from doing this or is it inevitable with the
wireless internet connection?

go to control panel >internet options >connections> lan settings and
uncheck "automatically detect settings "
