How could I set my Windows XP so whenever I open any folder in the Explorer
all the views and the following subsequent folders that I open are also in
the "Details" View automatically?

Hi

Open Windows Explorer and enable View>Details. Then go to Tools>Folder
Options>View and click on 'Apply to All Folders'. Restart Windows Explorer.

Since this question has been answered, I will hijack it and go one further...

So say we change the setting to Details view & Apply to All Folders... how
can i change my My Pictures folder and all subfolders back to Thumbnail view?
I have searched and searched, to no avail, to find out if there is a simple
way to do this or if I have to change this setting on each folder.

Thanks in advance to any that reply.

Hi,

You have to go back and change the settings on each folder for which you do
not want to have the default view apply.

That sucks, as I have hundreds of folders in my My Pictures that I want in
Thumbnail view. Plus, every folder that I add I have to change as well.

Nobody knows of a 3rd party app or a script or anything that can take a top
level folder and make it and all of its' subfolders a certain view? That
would bring me much joy.
