"Details" view

Gary

(I'm using Windows 2000 Version 5.0 (Service Pack 4).

===============================================

WINDOWS EXPLORER displays the files in "DETAILS" view but other
applications (like TextPad, Word, Excel, etc) displays the files in
"LIST" view. I want ALL applications to display the files in "DETAILS"
view.

=============================================

In WINDOWS EXPLORER, I have:

1. done TOOLS/FOLDER OPTIONS/VIEW

2. unchecked "REMEMBER EACH FOLDER'S VIEW SETTINGS"

3. clicked "LIKE CURRENT FOLDER"

4. clicked "OK"

5. clicked "YES" on the pop-up box saying "Set all folders on your
computer to match the current folder's view settings (except for
toolbars and webview)? Changes will occur the next time you open
them".

6. clicked "OK" on the "FOLDERS OPTONS" box

7. closed WINDOWS EXPLORER

8. started another application (like TEXTPAD).

9. when I do FILE/OPEN, the files are displayed in "LIST" view (not
"DETAILS" view).

============================================

How do I get the "DETAILS" view to apply to ALL applications?

David,

What does "AFAIK" mean.

How do it access the "user profile" for an application (like Excel, for example)?

User profiles are a function of the operating system, not of the
applications.
