Details file view resets to icon view in Explorer

No matter how many times I reset the File view in Windows Explorer to
Details, this configuration is changed back to Icon view after re-booting. I
have set this to Details View in Windows Explorer and in My Computer and
checked that the box "Remember each folder's view settings" is ticked in
Advanced, and that this setting applies to all folders, but even during a
Windows session this can revert to Icon View at a later time.
Please can anyone suggest a solution to this problem. I have read several
articles referring to this, but none of the supposed remedies appear to work.
Something must be rte-setting a value in the Registry but I cannot find
where this is occurring.

The Default for Windows XP is to remember the view settings for the 400 most
recently used folders.

Thanks Taurarian, but I have already done that tweak and have even increased
this setting to 16000 with the same result. Any other suggestions?

Further to this message, I made an error in saying the view reverted to Icon
View, but in fact it is Tiles View it continually reverts to instead of the
Details View that I have set Explorer to display. Any suggestions on this
please?
