But, even then, it's still attached to a template... you can not make a Word
document file completely independent. The only Word files that don't have an
associated external template are templates themselves. So... if you want a
document to be 100% portable, that's the only way to do it.
Thank you. I don't mind it being attached to Normal, it's other templates I
wish to detach it from.
If you start a new doc from a template it often asks about changes to the
template and the macros get mixed up with the template. I therefore wish to
create a doc from a template and then attach it to Normal and divorce it from
its original parent template.
In many ways, documents *are* divorced from their templates at creation,
provided you don't "Automatically update document styles" checked in Tools |
