Destination Host Unreachable

R

REMOVETHIS

When I try to ping the host www.fromlottospot.com from my main computer
I receive the error message "Destination Host Unreachable". However, if
I try the same thing from either my laptop or media center PC I can ping
it without any problems.

All three systems are on the same network (although the laptop is
connected wirelessly), and all are running Windows XP Pro SP2 (except
the Media center with is running Windows XP MCE 2005)

I have tried all the recommendations here:

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Assuming that this problem is confined to www.fromlottospot.com, Try:

1. ping www.fromlottospot.com. Then run ipconfig /displaydns and check to
see whether the name is resolving to the correct IP. If not you may have an
odd hosts file entry.

2. This error suggests a routing issue - try tracert and check your routing
table, you may have an incorrect static route to 207.182.253.67.

Thanks for you reply.

When I ping www.fromlottospot.com I get "Destination Host Unreachable"
I do not see any entries for fromlottospot.com or that IP address when I
run ipconfig /displaydns nor are they listed in my routing table.
When I try tracert I get the same error message at the 1st hop
"Destination Host Unreachable".

It must be a problem with this particular system because it works
properly on my other PCs...right?

Any other ideas? Thanks again for your help.

Problem Solved.

It turns out that that this host was being blocked by my PeerGuardian.
The host (Velocity Networks) is listed in the Spy list.
