Destination Host Unreachable

What is it that causes ping to return Destination Host Unreachable rather
than the good old Request Timed Out?
 
Greetings Jim,

It means that the ip address isn't vailid. Either there is no default
gateway, its ip address is wrong, or it isn't functioning.
