Desperately searching 4 photo editor

I am desperately looking for a photo editor that I had
when I bought my computer in 2003. (Win XP).
I don't know the name of the editor but this editor
allowed you to call up two images and edit them side by
side. The icon for this editor looks just like the
Windows Media Player icon but it does not have the black
arrowhead in the middle of the circle. (a red, green,
yellow and blue circle - or something very similar)
If you could e-mail me the name of this photo editor, I
would GREATLY APPREACIATE IT.

Windows did not ship with a photo editor (maybe Paint). Lots of times with new
computers there will be various programs installed, look on your recovery disks.
