All of a sudden, the shortcuts on my desktop have underlined links. Don't
know how that happened. How do I get rid of these "underlined links" on the
desktop? Thanks in advance.

Open Windows Explorer and click Tools - Folder Options. Under the General
tab, see if you have your options set to single-click to open or launch. If
so, then select the option to underline only when your mounse is over the
item.
