All of a sudden, none of my desktop shortcuts work. Also, I am unable to
click on a link from an email to get to the
internet . I need to cut & paste . Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It's a real pain. Thanks so much.

Explain 'unable'.

Install anything lately?

Have a nice one...

The same happens for me. Suddenly the shortcut to the file of games we had
on the desktop can't open because "the drive or network connection is
unavailable". And a word document email attachment couldn't open because it
said to make a new file association.

Perhaps the game shortcut is pointing to an executable in the CD-ROM drive? Or, the games requires the original game CD-ROM in. For the Word document issue, see if the .doc file association is correctly set. Office has a 'Detect and Repair' option which should fix most of the problems of this sort.

Sorry, should have been more specific. These are just games that are on the
desktop, no CD required.

Thanks you!
