laptop desktop problem

Hi All,

I am using windows xp home sr3 on an hp laptop with one gig of memory. When
I am on the desktop and go to my computer or any of the other windows
shortcuts such as my documents network places or recycle bin I can't just
hit enter on them to open them. I need to use the application key and go to
explore. The other desktop shortcuts work in the normal way. Is there
something I can do to fix this problem? Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi All,

I just wanted you to know that I fixed my laptop problem. I went to the
desktop icon under properties and went to restore defaults. That fixed the
problem.
