Desktop shortcut

Since updating win xp service pack 1.I can make a short
cut for my cdrom drive on the desktop but it dos'nt seem
to work properly.
would apreciate help.

Open Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and uninstall the Microsoft
WindowsUpdate hotfix "821557"

When it's ready. It's just about to start beta testing. It will
probably be sometime next year, but nobody knows for sure exactly
when.
