Hi to all and thanks for any reply.

I have XP Pro and the Autum scene as Desktop background.
I have also a number of shortcuts with the written part in a color
that matches the one side but not the other.

Is it possible to havethe shortcut writing in transparent ?

Regards Gery

Tanks for any reply

Control Panel -> System
Advanced tab -> Performance Settings button..
Make sure "Use Drop Shadows for Icons on the Desktop" is checked.

Or, do you mean the actual TEXT itself, not the background behind the text?

Thanks,

but it did not make the background of the written transparent.

R/c desktop - Arrange Icons - clear the tick on Lock Desktop Items.

Jep, now i have the desktop how I want it. Thanks.

But now the Icons are not locked, and the next little mishap can bunch
all the icons to the left side.

Is the desktop save to a file, so that I could make a backup?
If so, whats the name?

Icons aren't desktop items. You probably don't have any desktop items.
