DEsktop Shortcut quit working

The shortcut for my cd drive can no longer find the drive. I get a message
that the path is invalid but when I check the properties box the path is
correct. I can open My Computer and the cd drive icon works normally but
when I click on Create Shortcut the shortcut won't work. Does anyone have
any ideas.
