#E008 Setting registry value HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\Start Page
#E033 Error 5: Access is denied.

Had same problem installing IE7 on this machine. Was able to install IE7 in
safe mode as work around. Safe mode does not work for desktop search.
Regedit changes to change access properties does not help.
 
Yes, I guess I should have stated so. I thought it was obvious by posting
the excerpt from the verbose log. The permissions were already set on this
registry key from when I had the same problem from the IE7 installation.
